Meet the Sales Team
Aaron Morris
Founding Owner/Sales Manager
aaron@lanternpress.com
Aaron founded Lantern Press in 2005, stemming from a collection of vintage photographs and fruit labels he began building as a teenager. Now with a full-time team of eight, Aaron is able to focus on building relationships and facilitating orders with key accounts, developing new products, and serving as creative director to the company's three in-house graphic artists. A graduate of Seattle Pacific University, Aaron lives in Seattle with his wife, Beth and their dog, Izzy.
Beth Morris
Owner/Sales Manager
beth@lanternpress.com
Beth stumbled into Lantern Press through marriage, and has been pleasantly surprised at how well she and Aaron work as a team and co-operate what has become their family business. A graduate of the University of Washington's print journalism program, she is the go-to grammar nerd for all things communication-related. Beth travels alongside Aaron to many gift shows nationwide, and splits her time in the office between rep training, customer correspondence, travel/trade show coordination and company accounting.
Shannon Fink
Sales Manager
shannon@lanternpress.com
Shannon joined Lantern Press in 2010, to provide administrative and sales support, and has quickly joined the ranks of full-fledged sales manager, handling no small share of accounts. Shannon's desk is a one-stop shop for order-entering, customer service, rep training, data management and more. A fiercely proud University of Michigan alumnus, Shannon is our project warrior with an eye for detail and a talent for multi-tasking and making deadlines in record time. When not at her desk, you might run into Shannon manning the Lantern Press booth at gift shows in Denver, Las Vegas or Tennessee.
Meet the Art Team
Jason Munday
Graphic Artist
Our longest-standing artist, Jason came to Lantern Press in 2007, leaving his previous job of church bulletin design for the exciting world that is the Lantern Press art department (sometimes he even gets to draw robots, a passion of his). He attended the illustration and design program at Seattle's School of Visual Concepts. A true jack-of-all-trades, Jason is the guy we call on to pull out the bells and whistles and shake things up - be it laying out art onto twenty different shapes and products, creating a new LP magazine ad on the fly, or researching a data heavy "technical" drawing (do YOU know how many seconds it takes to reach the top of the Space Needle?), he's our man.
Steve Konz
Graphic Artist
The gravitational pull toward Lantern Press was so strong for Steve, he retired from a college-level teaching position and freelance illustration business to join our rowdy ranks. Steve is our team member with the most life experience, and the most art experience, and both are evident in his stunning work. He gets to draw many of his passions, be it national parks, views from mountain peaks, or scenic coastlines. We've learned that more often than not, when gathering information for a design, "Steve's been there." An avid outdoorsman, hiker and kayaker, Steve lives in Seattle with his wife and daughter.
Ashley Claypool
Graphic Artist
In the same year, Ashley traded snowstorms for rainstorms and drawing award-winning tattoos for drawing lighthouses (among other things), when she moved from Pittsburgh to Seattle and was hired in 2009 as Lantern Press's third full-time artist, beating out about 200 candidates for the position. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Ashley brings a youthful edginess to our art team that prompts us to think outside the box. Her artwork makes one-horse towns look like vacation destinations, and brings old 1940s pinup girls to new life. She has inspired growth and innovation within our company, and strikes the perfect balance between a free spirit and tenaciously hard worker.
Meet the Production Team
Sam Wells
Print Production Manager
Our longest standing employee and a Seattle University graduate, Sam joined the Lantern Press team in 2007 when the company was a mere 3-person operation working out of a 200-square-foot office. Sam runs our state-of-the-art digital press and handles all digital layouts for the multitude of products that Lantern Press offers. Spending about half his time on the computer and half on the press, Sam's careful eye for detail is what ensures the highest quality printing, color, and clarity onto each product we ship.
Ian Vanderhoff
Post Production and Shipping Manager
Ian sprinted ahead of hundreds of candidates, winning us over when we hired him in early 2010. An Alaska native and the youngest of our team members, he exemplifies the positive attitude, leadership and work ethic of any business owner's dream employee. Though Ian manages any seasonal or permanent production help we may have, much of his time is spent working independently and quietly, always without complaint, assembling hundreds of products each day in record time, and packing and shipping every order that goes out our door. He's funny, super-devoted to doing a good job and the most easygoing guy on the block. Who could ask for more?
Meet Izzy
Izzy
Office Dog
She bounds into work, tearing across the carpet, too excited even to stop for coffee on the way to her post. One thing Izzy has over anyone else in our office, is her over-the-top enthusiasm to be here. One thing everyone in our office has over Izzy, is their ability to stay awake for the duration of their shift. With a bed by mama's desk, and another by daddy's, Izzy keeps us sane on hectic days, and reminds us of the important things in life - like making sure that even in rainy Seattle, we always make time to get out for a walk.
